Many people associate enlightenment with happiness.
But the enlightenment process is not always filled with cheer and happiness. In fact, walking the road to enlightenment is not about getting high. Rather, it’s about helping the world heal.
You’re here to help the world heal. You’re here to help YOU heal.
That’s your mission, your job.
And, yeah, sometimes this job will involve rainbows, unicorns, and the most glittering days you can imagine. And, on other days, darker days, this will involve waking up in the morning with zero motivation. This will mean heartbreak, grief, disappointment, and crying out to God for mercy. These are all parts of the enlightenment process, too. It’s unavoidable.
The pleasures and joys of this world are great, my friends. Let’s celebrate them when they arrive. And, also, let’s be mindful. Let’s not hungrily chase happiness; let’s not cling to it with desperation. For when we seek and clutch at fleeting joys, we forget that the more important thing to do is to surrender. To declare to our higher power, our God (whatever you want to call the Divine Force):
Hello, I am here. Do with me as you please. Use me for Your Will. Thank You.
