Welcome to your weekly Tarot for the Soul reading!
If you have been guided to this reading, then you are in the right place, my friend. This reading is meant for you.
As always, I have drawn two cards from my Osho Zen Tarot deck.
The first card represents the gifts that will be showered upon you this week by the Universe. We always have gifts being delivered to us—and spiritual mastery lies in slowing down enough to be able to cultivate gratitude. Our soul longs to say “thank you”… and, so, by taking this moment to give thanks, we generate even more positive energy so that more and more gifts may manifest in the future!
The second card represents your areas for growth this week. Remember: there is no life without challenge…no light without dark, no yin without yang. Life in human form is a mixed bag of circumstances and lessons. It is in our highest wisdom to recognize and embrace all aspects, even the ones that are painful. Our soul needs challenges in order to grow. So, stand and face these growth opportunities with an open, courageous, loving heart.
~ Your Reading ~
Week of July 31, 2017
This week, the Fighting Card (Knight of Clouds) is reversed in meaning.
In other words, this week will be a week of peace.
If you look at the figure in this card, there are three predominant colors: black, white, and red. His eyes and his “trigger” buttons located on his armor are all red, indicating fire, rage, and intensity. Yet, the rest of the image is black and white. This is because when we are in fighting mode, the world seems black and white to us—right and wrong, good and bad, yes and no.
This week, my dear friend, you will be gifted with the opposite meaning of how this card is traditionally read.
This week, you will be gifted with a range of relaxed, flexible seeing. You will not be tense like in the figure on the card, but rather you will be loose, and you will be able to see a variety of colors of our beautiful world. People and situations will not be black and white; rather, you will see things as they truly are: as beautiful, nuanced, and full. What a gift!
This week, those people who usually trigger anger will come into your field and your reaction will be one of peace, calm, and love. You will be able to see past your own ego’s need to maintain authority or a sense of rightness, and you will, rather, relax into the depths of friendship with the Universe. You will surrender to the perfection of each moment, and you will be able to feel another layer of your ego release.
Therefore, the character on this card depicts the phase that you are moving beyond. Indeed, you are—more and more with every passing day—at peace with life, at peace with yourself. You see all the exquisite beauty. You recognize that the only way to be happy is to stop the fighting.
Your area for growth and change this week is represented by the Comparison Card (5 of Clouds).
This week is a great time to shed some of the old conditioning that asks you to compare yourself to others. It’s a great time to stop the madness!
Truly, one of the surest and quickest ways to depression, anxiety, and negative emotions is the act of comparison! When we compare, we make false judgements based in the ego. We say to the apple, “Why aren’t you more like a pear?” And we say to the pear, “Why the heck can’t you be more like that apple?”
Truly, comparisons are madness, a disease of the human mind.
All of us humans live in a society that is based on comparisons, on competition, and on warring with each other. So, it’s no wonder we all have some healing work to do!
This week, the challenge is to notice the moments when you are comparing yourself to someone else: either looking for ways that you are supposedly superior, or looking for ways that someone else is supposedly better than you. In the first scenario, your ego is looking for a boost by demeaning someone else. In the second, your ego is simply looking to maintain itself—and having an inferiority complex works quite well for keeping the ego intact! (“Woe is me” is a wonderful way to maintain a “me” focus.) Indeed, both types of comparison only bring suffering, because they are rooted firmly in the ego.
When we intentionally take steps in our lives to move out of the ego, we see our Divine connection to all beings, and we can appreciate the beautiful and unique ways that all of us contribute to the grand story of life. We move beyond judgment and we move into acceptance. We move into gratitude.
This week, each time you notice a comparison coming up in your mind, simply notice it, and then turn it into a moment of gratitude. Ask yourself: “What am I grateful for in this moment? What is wonderful about this moment? How is this person a gift in my life? How is this person uniquely contributing to the Universe? How am I uniquely contributing to the Universe?”
It’s going to be okay. The disease of comparison is not a fatal disease. It is one that can be healed. Simply set your intention, and then feel the healing happen.
I am so grateful for each of you. Thank you for your presence here. I am sending you radiant blessings for a beautiful week!
