Tarot for the Soul ~ week of July 24, 2017

this week pin date

Welcome to your weekly Tarot for the Soul reading!

If you have been guided to this reading, then you are in the right place, my friend. This reading is meant for you.

As always, I have drawn two cards from my Osho Zen Tarot deck.

The first card represents the gifts that will be showered upon you this week by the Universe. We always have gifts being delivered to us—and spiritual mastery lies in slowing down enough to be able to cultivate gratitude. Our soul longs to say “thank you”… and, so, by taking this moment to give thanks, we generate even more positive energy so that more and more gifts may manifest in the future!

The second card represents your areas for growth this week. Remember: there is no life without challenge…no light without dark, no yin without yang. Life in human form is a mixed bag of circumstances and lessons. It is in our highest wisdom to recognize and embrace all aspects, even the ones that are painful. Our soul needs challenges in order to grow. So, stand and face these growth opportunities with an open, courageous, loving heart.

WEEK OF JULY 24, 2017

GIFTS:

You are being asked by the Universe, by the higher forces of light and love, to express yourself and feel the joy. This week, my friends, is all about Creativity (3 of Major Arcana).creativity card

This is a beautiful week indeed! You are being asked to abandon yourself to the sheer joy of creating: whether that be writing in your journal, dancing alone in your living room, crafting an uplifting message on social media, making a meal, carving wood, singing a song, or selecting a beautiful outfit in the morning.

It is time for you to feel, truly feel, where the source of all creativity emerges from. It is time for you to feel, truly feel, the dissolution of ego, the dissolution of separateness, that happens when we create from a space of love.

When we allow ourselves to be a conduit for the Divine Source…the dance does the dancer. The song sings the singer. The paint paints the painter. The artist becomes a host and a vessel for love.

Usually in our society, we think of creativity in the opposite way. We think of learned techniques and mastery that supposedly comes from years of training. We think of degrees and certificates of achievement. Yet that is not the deepest truth of how creativity happens. The deepest truth is the reality that the purest and most beautiful forms of creativity can only come when we surrender to Source, to God, to Goddess, to the Universe (whatever you want to call it).

It is through the brave surrender of the small self that we can flow into the blissful, ecstatic embrace of the Big Self, the Infinite. A feeling washes over us. It is a wonderful feeling that, somehow, we have always known this connection, have always known this love and fun.

For, truly, creativity is nothing more than fun. Enjoying life. We came here to this planet to experience joy. The Buddha said that life is suffering—but his message was meant for those who were/are ready to begin the process of waking up. He wanted to show what we are leaving behind. He wanted to contrast the new way (happiness) with the old way (suffering).

Many of us, lightworkers and wayshowers of a new humanity, came to Planet Earth with a specific intention. We came here with the mission to heal and awaken others, to end suffering. And, yet, let us not make our mission into a grim duty. Our mission is not meant to be melancholic or serious. Rather, the way we can best shine our light in the world and complete our missions is to wholeheartedly surrender to the creative force that flows through us—joyfully!

GROWTH:

This week, your two cards fit together in a very lovely and obvious fashion. Let us contemplate how the Politics Card (7 of Clouds) fits with the Creativity Card.politics card

The Politics Card shows us a politician who is hiding behind a mask of innocence and beauty. Underneath, though, his hidden face is green, sickly, grotesque. Underneath the mask, he is a snake. His purpose is to tempt you, just like the snake tempted Adam and Eve in the Biblical story of the downfall of humanity.

Who is this politician?

This week, I invite you to ask that question, and to see the ways in which you yourself complete activities, tasks, and interactions in your daily life in a way that holds the energy of the politician. In what ways do you try to manipulate situations, people, and life in general in order to try to get what you want? In what ways do you not present your real face to life?

Our real face is that of relaxed joy. Our real face is that of loose (not tense) shoulders; our real face is that of deep (not shallow) breathing. Our real face is the face of creativity, innocence, spontaneity, compassion, curiosity, peace, and joy. Our real face, our real self, has no persona and no hidden motive. It is what it is—nothing to pretend, nothing to hide.

Have you ever loved someone so much that you simply could not lie to them? Have you ever cared for someone so much that you put their needs before your own? Have you ever felt so in tune with the Universe that you smiled at strangers on the street? Those kinds of energies, my friends, are the kinds of energies of our true self. The connected self. The whole self. The self that is in the constant flow of creativity.

By taking some time to look deeply into ourselves, even if it’s painful, asking ourselves some tough questions about when we try to manipulate—rather than trust—life, then we can begin to unravel some of that old energy of deceit.

In this day and age, hardly anyone believes that politicians can “save” us. We simply are too smart for that. We understand that saving comes from within. There is no politician that can swoop down from heaven and magically wave their wand at the troubles of our planet and fix it all. No. Rather, now, we as a collective human species are waking up to the reality that what needs to be attended to, during this time, is internal work. Each one of us needs to spend more time each day in silence and meditation, more time in self-reflection, more time in spiritual practice and looking deeply into what motivates us, and what it is that best serves the healing process within.

For, truly, when our focus is not on impressing others with our outward masks, but rather on healing our own hearts regardless of what others say or think, then the need to hold that old mask dies away—and what is left in its place is the real face. The face of love. The face that radiates the flow of all creation.
